First, we will pass by the impressive Taapacá Volcano, whose summit reaches 5,860 meters (19,220 feet) in altitude. The route will continue to the village of Colpita, and from there, we will detour toward the spectacular Suriplaza Mountains. The most distinctive feature of these peaks is their wide variety of reddish, ochre, and orange jues.
During the tour of this area, we will observe the local wildlife. Among the main species are native animals of the Chilean Altiplano, such as vicuñas, llamas, and alpacas. Do you know how these species survive the Andean climate? After discovering this, we will take a break to enjoy a box lunch.
After recharging, we will continue exploring the landscapes around Suriplaza. We will also visit some small villages in this area of Chile, such as Cosapilla and Caquena. Then, we will visit the spectacular Casiri Lagoons, located at the foot of the snow-capped Condoriri.
