A las 9:00 am los recogeremos en su hotel de Putre y nos desplazaremos hacia el entorno del Parque Nacional Lauca: un precioso paisaje altiplánico situado en el extremo norte de Chile, junto a la frontera con Bolivia.
Our first stop will be at Lake Chungará, located at 4,500 meters (14,764 feet) above sea level. After admiring its beautiful surroundings, we will head to the heart of Lauca National Park to admire the impressive Payachata Volcanoes. The main peaks are Parinacota, Pomerape, Acotango, and Guallatiri, all rising above 6,000 meters (19,685 feet) above sea level.
As we explore this protected natural area, we will see the famous alpacas, llamas, and vicuñas of the Chilean Altiplano.
The route will continue to the Cotacotani Lagoons, another natural gem of Lauca National Park. The park’s surroundings also have a very special charm, which we will discover by visiting the village of Parinacota, whose church is declared a National Monument. Additionally, we will explore the Chucuyo area, where we will see the flamingo lagoon, finishing the tour at the archaeological sites of Las Cuevas.
