Between 8:00 and 9:00 a.m., as previously arranged with the passenger, we will pick you up from your hotel in Putre and head toward Cerro Choquelimpe—a spectacular summit located in the heart of the Chilean Altiplano.
We’ll stop at the base of the mountain and from there begin a high-difficulty trekking route, which will take between 8 to 10 hours, depending on the group’s pace. The effort will be worth it, as we’ll ascend to an altitude of 5,350 meters above sea level (17,552 feet), with an elevation gain of 764 meters (2,507 feet), starting from the CONAF ranger station located at Lake Chungará.
A perfect altitude to enjoy unforgettable views of the Payachatas, Kimsachatas, and the spectacular Sajama Volcano!
We’ll take a break to calmly enjoy all these landscapes and have a snack. After eating, we’ll begin the gradual descent back to the starting point.
Finally, we will return to your hotel in Putre between 6:00 and 7:00 p.m.
Includes: Shared transportation, first aid kit, Spanish-speaking driver-guide, and en-route snack. Small group tour with a minimum of 2 passengers.
Not Included: English-speaking guide, alcoholic beverages, soft drinks or juices, cold and hot bottled water
