During the tour of the salt flat, which is located at an altitude of 4,245 meters (13,927 feet), we’ll take in the landscapes of one of the main flamingo nesting sites in South America. This area of the high Andean mountains is also home to a variety of native wildlife, such as rheas, vicuñas, alpacas, llamas, and Andean geese.
While we try to spot some of these animals, we’ll travel through various areas featuring rivers, lagoons, volcanoes, salt flats, and high-altitude wetlands. We’ll also visit the main inhabited settlements in the area. The most notable is the village of Guallatire, known for its picturesque church.
Next, we’ll take a break to enjoy a box lunch. After recharging, we’ll visit another major highlight of the Salar de Surire: the Polloquere Hot Springs.
Finalmente, emprenderemos el regreso hasta Putre, donde la llegada a su hotel está prevista a las 17:00 aproximadamente.
