Descripcion
Pomerape Volcano, located on the border between Chile and Bolivia, is an impressive peak that is part of the Andes mountain range. Standing at 6,282 meters, it is known for its natural beauty and volcanic activity, although it is currently dormant. It is distinguished by its conical shape and its surroundings of arid landscapes and rugged mountains. Its slopes are covered with a mix of vegetation, including species adapted to the extreme high-altitude conditions. The view from the summit is spectacular, offering panoramic sights of the nearby Parinacota Volcano and the majestic Chungará Lake, creating a striking visual contrast.
ITINERARY
To achieve a gradual acclimatization suitable for the demands of this activity, this first high-altitude physical exercise is carried out. We will depart at 3:00 PM from the main square of Putre, so the meeting time will be 2:30 PM. From this point, we will travel through the pre-Andean landscape toward the altiplano transition along a trail that connects the town to the Jurasi hot springs. With an elevation gain of 500 meters (1,640 feet) and some steep sections, this trail will be our first mountain hiking test.

ASSUMED RISKS
Any outdoor activity carries inherent risks related to the environment and the activity itself; however, due to the nature of the location and what we will be doing, please take the following points into consideration:
• We will be in a remote environment, meaning medical assistance will be more than two hours away by vehicle from our Base Camp location.
• Along the route, there is a risk of falling rocks in the event of tremors or an earthquake.
• Since we will be at altitudes ranging from 3,500 to 6,342 meters above sea level, we will be exposed to the risk of altitude sickness.
• Being an arid area with little vegetation, the risk of fire is very low.
• Other risks such as heat stroke or hypothermia may occur if necessary precautions are not taken.
