Mount Parinacota, located on the border between Chile and Bolivia, rises to 6,342 meters (20,807 feet) above sea level and is part of the Andes mountain range. With its impressive snow-capped summit and surrounding landscapes, it is a popular destination for mountaineering and trekking. Additionally, the nearby area is home to Lauca National Park, known for its biodiversity and beautiful lakes.<\/span><\/p>\n

Itinerary<\/strong><\/p>\n

D\u00eda 1:\u00a0 Putre – Trekking Guane \u2013 Guane\u00a0<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

Salida desde el hotel en Putre con destino al cerro Guane-Guane (5.100 m s. n. m.), donde realizaremos un trekking de aclimataci\u00f3n con una duraci\u00f3n aproximada de 7 a 8 horas<\/span> para luego dirigirnos al poblado de parinacota a la hostal Uta Kala para cenar y alojar.<\/span><\/p>\n

Day 2: Putre \u2013 Parinacota Volcano Base Camp<\/p>\n

Desde el pueblo de parinacota nos dirigiremos en veh\u00edculo hacia los faldeos del Lago Chungara, sector perteneciente al Parque Nacional Lauca, donde nos trasladaremos hasta los faldeos de este Volc\u00e1n para armar el Campamento Base (CB) de esta Expedici\u00f3n, este se ubicar\u00e1 a los 4.950 m.s.n.m y ser\u00e1 uno de los puntos de reuni\u00f3n m\u00e1s importantes de la actividad, donde estar\u00e1 gran parte de la log\u00edstica de emergencia y apoyo que brindan el staff. <\/span><\/p>\n

D\u00eda 3<\/strong>: Base Camp \u2013 High Camp<\/strong><\/p>\n

This day is crucial to the activity as all the necessary equipment must be carried to set up High Camp and the Technical Team for the ascent. The route covers 3 kilometers (1.9 miles) with an elevation gain of 400 meters (1,312 feet), where High Camp will be established at 5,350 meters (17,552 feet) above sea level, where we will spend the night.<\/span><\/p>\n

D\u00eda 4<\/strong>: High Camp \u2013 Ascent to Mount Parinacota \u2013 Return to Putre<\/strong><\/p>\n

On this day, we will set out early in the morning with the goal of reaching the summit of Mount Parinacota. We will climb a total of 1,000 meters (3,281 feet) in elevation, with 800 meters (2,625 feet) of that ascent on snow and ice terrain. After the climb, we will return to High Camp to pack up and then descend to the vehicles for the trip back to the town of Putre.<\/span><\/p>\n

Activity Requirements <\/strong><\/p>\n

\u2022 Be 18 years of age or older.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Participants must complete and sign a Risk Assumption form required by SERNATUR, as well as a medical questionnaire that we request at the time of booking the service. Failure to comply with the expedition\u2019s rules, actions, and regulations may result in service cancellation at the discretion of the lead guide, who may declare this explicitly or implicitly.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Participants must be in good health and physically prepared for the activity, which involves trekking and mountaineering carrying a backpack weighing between 12 kg and 17 kg over rough terrain, including rocky paths, slopes, snow, ice, and elevation changes.<\/p>\n

\u00a0ASSUMED RISKS \u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

Any outdoor activity carries inherent risks related to the environment and the activity itself; however, due to the nature of the location and what we will be doing, please take the following points into consideration:<\/p>\n

\u2022 We will be in a remote environment, meaning medical assistance will be more than two hours away by vehicle from our Base Camp location.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Along the route, there is a risk of falling rocks in the event of tremors or an earthquake.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Since we will be at altitudes ranging from 3,500 to 6,342 meters above sea level, we will be exposed to the risk of altitude sickness.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Being an arid area with little vegetation, the risk of fire is very low.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Other risks such as heat stroke or hypothermia may occur if necessary precautions are not taken.<\/p>\n

Expect minimum temperatures around -15\u00b0C and maximum temperatures up to 10\u00b0C.<\/p>\n

The southwest face during the mountain season (from March to August) retains more snow than other areas, offering a privileged view of Lake Chungar\u00e1 and the Cotacotani Lagoons.<\/p>\n
