At 8:00 a.m., we will pick you up from your\u202fhotel in Putre\u202fand head toward the so-called\u202fPampa de Luscuma.<\/p>\n
In this plain of the\u202fAndean foothills of northern Chile, we will begin a\u202ftrekking route\u202fthat will take us to the summit of\u202fCerro Surunche. Throughout the hike, which is of medium-high difficulty and lasts between 5 and 6 hours, we will\u202fascend to a maximum altitude of 3,890 meters (12,762 feet).<\/p>\n
Did you know that\u202ftraditional Andean ceremonies\u202fare held on Cerro Surunche? As we ascend the mountain slope, we\u2019ll learn about the main rituals celebrated here. At the summit, we\u2019ll see a\u202fcolonial-era crucifix\u202faround which the Cruz de Mayo festivities take place.<\/p>\n
This activity presents a moderate to high challenge, ideal for those with good physical condition and experience in outdoor activities. With an approximate duration of 4 hours, the route offers an intense and rewarding experience.<\/p>\n
Altitude: The maximum altitude reached will be 3,890 meters (12,762 feet) above sea level. At this height, it is recommended to be well-acclimatized and prepared for the effects of high altitude, such as reduced oxygen availability.<\/p>\n
While enjoying the views, we\u2019ll take a break for a\u202fpicnic, which includes sandwiches, nuts, chocolate, and natural juices. After recharging, we\u2019ll begin the descent along the most accessible side of the mountain.<\/p>\n
We will conclude the trekking route at the starting point and from there return to your hotel in Putre. Arrival is expected between 2:00 PM and 3:00 PM.<\/p>\n
